Galentine’s Day Tea

I picked up a new term from smart girl, Amy Poehler – “Galentine’s Day” – and put it to good use!  We’re not the only ones.  Here’s a link to another Galentine’s Tea going on too!

A group of us got together to enjoy our Galentine’s day at Emma’s Tea Room.

We had such a good time.  We got to hang out in the “dining room” and laughed and talked and enjoyed ourselves over a very leisurely lunch!

I enjoyed their Lavender Green tea.  Good for relaxation and calming.  It may look a little dark for green tea but it was nicely brewed and tasted very smooth.  It can be tricky for green tea because if it’s overbrewed it will become bitter.  The smell was rather soothing too.  The pots are so tiny but they were so nice and offered us free refills!  It’s a good way to keep your tummy and your hands warm.

I splurged and finally had the chicken pot pie.  I’ve watched others have it for quite some time and decided today was my day.  Who doesn’t want yummy comfort food in the cold weather?  It had a very nice, flaky crust and the little hearts were such a nice touch!  The filling was creamy and full of chicken and vegetables.  Just what you’d expect from homemade pot pie.  The fruit did make me feel a little more virtuous.

My friend, Ann, had the chicken fruit salad with orange poppy seed dressing. Look at the strawberries, apples, and blue cheese!  Everything looked so crisp and fresh.

Finally we topped off our great lunch and had dessert.  We all got different cake balls.  I’m very much a fan of red velvet cake so that’s what I had.  This was something new for me.  The icing was a candy, creamy, icing shell and the cake itself was so very moist.  It was a perfect way to top off our meal!
