To The Moon!

In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, here’s my man on the moon tea towel.

This is a special event and one wants to pause and recognize what a great achievement this was; especially when you consider they did it with slide rules not computers.

I live in Huntsville Alabama, home to Marshall Space Flight Center where the Saturn V rocket was designed and tested. Windows shook around town every time they tested the rocket engines.

Many folks here were directly involved and still are actively working on current space programs including the Space Station. We feel a great sense of pride in our space-iness. A common bumper sticker around here is, “As a matter of fact, I am a Rocket Scientist.”

Looking to the future, we hear that we’re going back to the moon and the new mission will be called Artemis. She was the twin sister to Apollo. How exciting!

Do you suppose they will have tea on the moon?
 Let’s hope so!
