Tips for Traveling with Tea

The dilemma for tea drinkers when attending a meeting – how to get a decent cup of tea.  I’ve run into all sorts of roadblocks:
– No tea at all.  That’s a serious problem.
– So I thought I solved the no tea problem by bringing my own tea along with infusers and I’ve even brought my own teapots.  But then I had to deal with lukewarm “hot” water or we ran out of water entirely.
– Or, worst of all, they serve the hot water in the same containers that have held coffee.  No coffee-tea please.  Click on the link to see why.

Tea drinking is on the rise and so you’ll find more and more tea along with the coffee.  However, it’s still the exception and not the norm.  Rather than take a chance, I just bring my tea along with me to all day meetings.  But how?

I have found an ever-so-satisfactory solution.  A thermos!  My thermos!  It is one of my treasured possessions.  To misquote Steve Martin in The Jerk, “All I need is this thermos!”

It nearly holds a whole pot of tea, never leaks, and fits quite smartly in my handbag.  I can make the tea the night before and it’s still piping hot with steam rising the next morning.  It’s magic, I tell you!

It adds a pleasing note to a day of learning.  The hot tea keeps me alert and warm.  An added bonus since most meeting rooms tend to be a little cold.

Cheers!
