I’ll recommend another book about tea to you – “The Great Tea Rooms of America” by Bruce Richardson
It’s a nice compilation of what the author considers the best tea rooms in the U.S. and I think it makes a great checklist. I’ve been to one of the tearooms already – see my previous entry about the Empress Tea Room in Victoria, British Columbia.
Sadly, I was at two of the others but, due to timing, didn’t have tea. We visited Lake Louise (glacier water is cold!) and walked through the Fairmont there and had lunch. We also visited Butchart Gardens in Victoria, BC and I purchased some nice loose leaf tea while we were there; however, we already had planned to have tea at the Empress that day and couldn’t have tea in two places at once. I guess we’ll just have to go back!
I’ve read several good reviews of Alice’s Tea Room in NY and I look forward to going there someday. As you know, we are already familiar with the Savannah Tea Room’s tea but I personally have not visited them. Yet.
So many places to go, so little time.
What’s the best tea room you’ve ever been to?
We visited my sister who lives in Oslo, Norway and had high tea at a place called Cafe Christiana…here is a link:http://www.visitoslo.com/en/restaurants-nightlife/cafe/?TLp=184221&Cafe-Christiania= it was lovely!
We had Earl Grey, I think that is what got me hooked on it!
